Fashion Intelligence Integrates 3D LiDAR and Positioning Technologies to Accelerate Smart-Space Digitalisation

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA (MERXWIRE) – Fashion Intelligence, a Taiwan-based Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) solutions provider, has deployed its technologies at Singapore Changi Airport to support the rapid tracking and coordination of thousands of service assets. The company is now expanding its presence in the Malaysian market.

As smart manufacturing, smart buildings and digital twin applications continue to advance, enterprise requirements for spatial digitalisation are evolving beyond basic mapping towards real-time positioning, asset management, visualised monitoring and cross-system data integration.

Fashion Intelligence focuses on integrated smart-space solutions, bringing together 3D scanning, spatial modelling, indoor and outdoor positioning, and digital spatial data management. These capabilities enable organisations to transform physical environments into digital assets that can be managed, analysed and continuously updated.

For large factories, warehouses, complex buildings and indoor environments where GPS signals are limited or unavailable, Fashion Intelligence integrates handheld and backpack 3D LiDAR scanning systems capable of operating without GPS. With a 360° × 270° field of view, the systems can efficiently capture high-density point cloud data and current site conditions.

The scanning process generates point cloud data that can be combined with imagery and subsequent modelling workflows to produce 360-degree panoramic views, 2.5D spatial maps, BIM models and other 3D outputs. These data sets can also support applications involving Google Maps, Apple Maps, IMDF-compliant indoor spatial data and digital twin environments.

For real-time positioning, Fashion Intelligence can integrate BLE, UWB, LiDAR and wireless communication technologies according to the accuracy, responsiveness and management requirements of different environments. Applications include personnel positioning, asset tracking, AGV positioning, smart warehouse management, indoor navigation, vehicle location and electronic geofencing. Solutions can be configured flexibly based on positioning accuracy, real-time requirements and site conditions.

By integrating 3D spatial data, positioning information and management systems, organisations can gain more timely visibility into the movement and status of personnel, equipment and assets, while reducing the management burden caused by fragmented information. This integrated approach can also support facility maintenance, operational management and digital twin applications.

Spatial data can further be managed through a digital spatial data management platform that integrates point clouds, spatial geometry and panoramic imagery. Depending on project requirements, the platform can support standard formats such as IMDF as well as role-based access and permission management, allowing spatial data to move beyond one-off modelling and continue supporting ongoing operations and management.

By working with different technology partners and hardware providers, Fashion Intelligence can deploy solutions according to each organisation’s operational environment and application requirements. As AIoT, robotics and digital twin adoption continue to expand, Fashion Intelligence will continue to advance the integration of spatial data, real-time positioning and operational information, supporting smart factories, logistics and warehousing facilities, smart buildings and large public environments in building more flexible and scalable digital management capabilities.

For businesses, the value of a digital twin goes beyond creating a 3D model. Its broader value lies in continuously connecting spatial, equipment, location and operational information within a digital environment, enabling decision-makers to gain faster visibility of on-site conditions and providing a stronger data foundation for analysis and informed decision-making.
