Malaysia Partners with FRIM Inc. to Advance AI Carbon Tech

(MENAFN) Malaysia’s Sastena Technology Sdn Bhd has joined forces with FRIM Incorporated Sdn Bhd, the commercial arm of the Forest Research Institute Malaysia, to develop an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered carbon intelligence platform.

In a joint statement, the two organizations said the partnership combines cutting-edge AI with nationally verified forest science to enhance the country’s capabilities in autonomous carbon assessment, monitoring, and transparent reporting.

The initiative aims to position Malaysia as a credible leader in both voluntary and upcoming compliance-based carbon markets by integrating science-backed automation into national carbon intelligence systems.

“This collaboration enables Malaysia to lead with transparent, science-backed carbon intelligence powered by AI,” said Ahmad Jazzri Jamaludin, chief executive officer of Sastena Technology.

Faizal Ramli, chief executive officer of FRIM Inc., added that the partnership will leverage decades of forest research “to support transparent pathways for climate reporting and carbon stewardship.”
